Chapman Woods is nestled in the Southeast corner of Pasadena with well-know streets composing three of the borders (N-Del Mar, S-Huntington, E-Rosemead, W-Edison Power Lines).  Chapman Woods has the feeling of a warm and friendly neighborhood.  The Chapman Woods neighborhood has a neighborhood association that brings residents together for quarterly events, activities and parties.

Consisting of approximately 450 homes (See current Chapman Woods Homes for Sale), this sought after neighborhood has been a life-long home to many Pasadena California residents, including the famous Elizabeth Taylor, who spent several years living in the Woods.  It's southern colonial home on Madre St. has been seen across the country as it was used in the well-known film "Gone with the Wind."

Why "Chapman Woods?"  This area was named after a West Point graduate by the name of Alfred D. Chapman.  Chapman acquired nearly 2000 acres of land back in 1869.  It was later years that he sold some of the Eastern land off.  The area became heavily wooded as Chapmanplanted trees across the acreage as well as a citrus vineyard.  In the warm summer climate the trees provided a break from the sun.
