Chapman.  Chapman acquired nearly 2000 acres of land back in 1869.  It was later years that he sold some of the Eastern land off.  The area became heavily wooded as Chapman planted trees across the acreage as well as a citrus vineyard.  In the warm summer climate the trees provided a break from the sun.
